visit the Bona Thompson Center

The Bona Thompson was Butler University’s library and a central meeting place from its construction in 1903 to Butler’s move to Fairview Park in 1928. Designed by the architect Jesse T. Johnson in the Neoclassical Revival style, it is the only building remaining of Butler’s Irvington campus. 
 
The Bona showcases art and history exhibits featuring the collections of the Irvington Historical Society. Visit to explore the exhibits

Admission

Admission is free. Suggested donation is $5 – $10. 

Parking

There is a handicapped parking space on the north side of the building in the parking lot on S Downey Ave. The rest of the parking lot is only for permitted residents of Historic Irvington Flats. 

Street parking is available on the north side of S Downey Ave and the south side of E University Ave.

Bicycle parking racks are available on either side of the steps at the front entrance.
