Thank you to our volunteers Margaret Banning, Andy Whitehurst, and the Bob Sponsel family. We are growing the Irvington Historical Society Volunteer Program! Volunteers are essential to preserving, celebrating, and sharing the history and character of the Irvington community. Whether you enjoy working with people, organizing historical materials, planning events, or supporting behind-the-scenes projects, there are many ways to get involved.

We are looking for volunteers with a wide range of interests and skill sets, including:

  • Museum docent support
  • Exhibit setup and curation
  • Event planning and community engagement
  • Website and social media assistance
  • Archival scanning and organization
  • Building and grounds support

No prior experience is required—just a willingness to contribute your time and talents to help preserve local history for future generations.

By completing the volunteer interest form, you will help us better understand your availability, interests, and experience so we can connect you with opportunities that fit your schedule and strengths. We appreciate your interest in supporting the Irvington Historical Society and look forward to working with you. Please complete the online form or download and print a paper copy to drop off at the Bona Thompson Center during our regular hours of operation. Printed forms may also be mailed back to the Irvington Historical Society.
